Privacy Policy for Deen Party
Effective date: 16 August 2026 Last updated: 16 August 2026
This policy explains what Deen Party ("the app", "we", "us") collects, why, and
what choices you have. It applies to the Deen Party mobile app
(com.deenparty.app) on Android and iOS.
Summary
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not collect your email address, phone number, or location.
- We do not see or store your payment card details — Apple and Google handle payment.
- Your camera never leaves your device. Frames are analysed on-device and discarded.
- Voice recordings are transcribed and immediately discarded — never stored.
1. Information we collect
1.1 Account and gameplay data
When you play online, we create an account for you through our game server (Nakama). This holds:
- a randomly generated user ID,
- your chosen display name,
- gameplay records: scores, league standing, trophies, XP, level, Barakah balance,
- your premium subscription status and expiry,
- a password, which you choose when you create the account.
We do not ask for your real name or email address. The first time you open the app you create a username and password (or sign in if you already have one). Use that pair on another phone to keep the same points and skins.
1.2 Voice recordings
Some game modes (Finish the Ayah, recitation practice, voice answers) record audio while you speak.
- Audio is sent to our server, converted to text, and discarded from memory immediately. It is never written to disk, never stored, and never used to train any model.
- Only the resulting text is used, to score your answer.
- On some devices, transcription happens entirely on-device and no audio is sent at all.
1.3 Camera
Certain modes use the front camera to detect whether a player is present in frame.
- All processing happens on your device using a local model.
- Camera frames are never uploaded, transmitted, or stored.
- We receive only a yes/no signal about player presence.
1.4 Voice chat (Halaqa)
Online voice rooms carry live audio between participants through our voice provider (LiveKit). Audio is relayed in real time and not recorded by us. Remember that other participants can hear you.
1.5 AI features
Some features generate questions, explanations, or conversation using third-party AI services (Anthropic and Google). When you use them, the text you supply — a topic you type, a question you ask — is sent to those providers to produce a response.
Do not enter personal or sensitive information into AI features.
1.6 Usage analytics
We record pseudonymous events to understand how the app is used: app opens, screens viewed, games started and finished, answers correct or wrong, rounds played, purchases made. These are tied to your random user ID, not to your identity. We use Firebase Analytics (Google) alongside our own analytics.
1.7 Device and technical data
We collect basic device information (model, operating system version, app version, language) for compatibility and troubleshooting. Our servers log IP addresses and device identifiers, which we use for security, abuse prevention, and enforcing bans.
1.8 Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by the App Store or Google Play. We receive a receipt or purchase token confirming a valid subscription and its expiry date. We never receive your card number, billing address, or payment credentials.
1.9 Data stored on your device
Preferences, cached content, and progress are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them.
2. Why we use your information
| Purpose | Data used |
|---|---|
| Run the game and keep your progress | Account, gameplay data |
| Score spoken answers | Voice recordings (transcribed, then discarded) |
| Detect player presence | Camera (on-device only) |
| Enable online play and voice rooms | Account, connection data |
| Provide AI-generated content | Text you enter |
| Deliver and restore your subscription | Purchase receipts |
| Improve the app | Usage analytics |
| Prevent cheating, abuse, and fraud | Device data, IP address, moderation records |
3. Who we share with
We share data only with service providers who help operate the app:
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Apple / Google | Payments, subscriptions, app distribution |
| Google (Firebase) | Analytics |
| Anthropic | AI-generated content |
| Google (Gemini) | AI-generated content and answer judging |
| LiveKit | Real-time voice rooms |
| Our hosting provider | Game servers and databases |
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
4. How long we keep data
- Voice recordings: not retained — discarded immediately after transcription.
- Camera frames: never leave your device.
- Account and gameplay data: kept while your account is active, and deleted when you delete your account (see section 5).
- Analytics: retained in aggregated or pseudonymous form. The records that name your account are deleted with the account.
- Purchase and subscription records: kept after account deletion, because refunds and store reconciliation happen afterwards and because German law requires business records of a transaction to be retained (§ 147 AO).
- Moderation records: kept as long as needed to enforce bans — including after an account is deleted, so that deleting and reinstalling cannot be used to shed a ban.
5. Your rights and choices
You can:
- Withhold permissions. Microphone and camera access are optional; the app works without them, though some modes will be unavailable. You can revoke them at any time in your device settings.
- Delete your account and data yourself, from inside the app: Settings → Privacy → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. Full details of what is removed and what is retained are on the account deletion page. Note that deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription — cancel that in your Google Play or App Store settings first.
- Or request deletion by contacting us at deenparty@outlook.de, for example if you no longer have the device. We will respond within 30 days.
- Request a copy of the data associated with your account.
- Manage your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, and port your data, and to object to processing. Our legal bases are: contract (running the game and your subscription), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, improving the app), and consent (microphone and camera access).
If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined.
6. Children's privacy
Deen Party is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact deenparty@outlook.de and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit, verify all purchases server-side, and restrict administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in the app or through the store listing, and the "Last updated" date above will change.
